Yesterday I had an epiphany as to where I get my pioneering spirit from. I knew my grandfather (dad's dad) walked to and back from school everyday but I didn't know that he couldn't afford shoes. He would take leaves and wrap his feet in them and walk from his village to school and back every day up until 10th grade. One way was 8km. Wow. And now his whole family is thriving. I never met him because he died before my father got married but I felt a certain anxiety quell within me after learning that. Now I know why I have such a determined spirit. #onwards #fiercewoman #Durga

Had a wonderful dinner today at my aunt's house. I am still thoroughly stuffed cause I had three rotis.  As my one uncle says, if you don't eat the food, the food will eat you.

I never thought that I would be searching my Facebook friends' friends lists for models for my mom's fashion show. #fashion obsessed mom #back on the road again

I'm really tired of these ridiculous comments women get at the workplace and in general. We really don't need people to evaluate how successful we're going to be and these falsities do not need to be made under any context. If I did that to a man, I'd get shot.

I still can never forget when my sister was interviewing for her pediatric residency that one of her interviewers literally said to her that she would never make it. (I'm pretty sure it was one of the interviewer guys....we're trying to forget). I mean what the bloody fuck you idjat. NOW, my sister just got accepted to a child psychiatry fellowship at Children's Hospital in PA affiliated with UPenn. There's only four child psychiatry programs in the whole country which are tailored to physicians (cause she's a pediatrician) and she got accepted. (Obviously I just asked her this on the phone). There is a shortage in the US for child psychiatrists so they started these programs for physicians in 2007. I'm so proud. I can't wait to send that turd this lovely thank you message: thank you idiot

no mishaps so far. I didn't leave the stove on or something boiling on the stove and everything is in good working shape. only thing is while I was fixing my dad's painting, I got some paint on the kitchen tablecloth. I sprayed Shop Shot carpet remover on it and some of it came off. I felt bad and called my mom and told her and she said no worries we'll get another one from India. I'm so proud of myself : )

I got an email today from Capital One asking me to check my account. So I went in there and saw that I was charged $14.52 in interest, a $15.00 late fee for not paying that interest and then another 50 cents (and so interesting cause I just opened up an article on how 50 cent is the love of Vivica Fox's life) minimum interest charge. What!!!!!! Not again!!!!!!!! So of course I had a temporary anger moment and called Capital One. I told them that last month I had paid off the balance on my credit card which then resulted in a zero balance. So I was shocked to see that I was charged all these fees on a zero balance. The lady looked into it and apologized and said the fees would be eliminated. Phew. Thank you. However, this was unnecessary. I wasted fifteen minutes on this thing including the three minutes it took to write this post plus I suffered a moment of increased blood pressure. I have excellent blood pressure. And no cholesterol and no sugar problems. I would like to keep it that way. Every momentary increase in blood pressure due to unnecessary stress costs 50 dollars. I am going to start keeping a log on all the unnecessary costs I incur. Thank you and have a nice day.

Additionally he said that the battery needed to be checked. He said it looked like it was four years old and from Walmart (which is prob why it needs to be replaced lord). I just got an oil check and will have to take the car back to Walmart or stop at Sears for a new battery. If only Clinton were President lord.
A Moment of Gratitude: So this afternoon my car wasn't starting. It's 7 degrees outside so go figure. I wasn't going to make it in time for my acu appt so I cancelled it. I tried to get through on the phone to AAA but couldn't. I submitted a request online and waited for 20 minutes or so. Then I called them again and got through! They told me they would send someone over but it would be two hours before they could come. But then guess what happened. Ten minutes later they arrived! My battery is now jumpstarted. The guy said that he usually doesn't jumpstart batteries but he made a quick stop over (I guess I was on the way) otherwise it would be two more hours before I got help. Now I can go see my students!!!! I couldn't see them at all last week so I'm so relieved. Thank you AAA!!!!

Unfortunately however my sister is now very sick so my mom left to go see her. You can't be sick as a doctor it's not allowed so tough situation. There's always something going on in life. Just be grateful that you have a working car ~ Peace

event planned for the near future: frying of ALL FOODS!!!! bread pakoda, paneer pakoda, spinach and onion pakoda, cauliflower pakodas, bhindi pakodas....it's going to be a heavenly day ~
Somehow I got sick this weekend. It hurts when I swallow, coughing up, head hurting all of that stuff. I don't know if it's because I ate a klondike bar this week and pie. Oh well I'm sitting on the couch with my meds, snacks, tissue box, blankie, the TV and my books. Just another uneventful weekend chillin. I've never seen this movie Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and Matthew Mcconaughey looks HOT so I'm tuning in...I've finally come to Realize that that scene where he leaves Jennifer Garner's bed after weeks of wooing is the sad reality. sigh..
