#I'm chatting with someone at the Microsoft Answer Desk to see if they can help me with my Office Mac installation because my new product key is not activating : ( (tear)
waiting to get OfficeMac product exchanged because Best Buy (cause you have to do it physically) never sent you the product key via email and maybe they sent it via mail but who knows where it is and you finally got around to needing to download it: 0 dollars technically speaking
quick walk through Macy's and then at DSW where I found beautiful sandals: $59.95 - $20.00 rewards discount = $39.95

getting it all done in an hour and a half including driving time: priceless

Aloo Poori (Potatoes w fried bread)

boil potatoes, peel and cut. we have six big potatoes here:


warm oil in pot and AFTER the oil is really warm, add cumin seeds cause the flavor of the seeds will come out only if the oil is warm:


add two big karchis (big Indian spoon - so like 1/4th cup) of crushed tomatoes and two teaspoons of salt:


then add a healthy teaspoon and a half of garam masala (coriander and cumin powders) and just a little red mirchi (spice):


also add a green chile!


you can also add some coriander leaves. then mix. we really want a nice flavor:


then add the potatoes and like two cups of water:


forgot to add turmeric, a little less than half a teaspoon:


cover and boil for sometime. It will taste amazing with hot pooris : D

I picked up some cochin masala chai this week (badly needed a refill). On the way to school, I stopped to get a snack and left my chai where I got the snack!!!!!! argh. I called the shop today where I got the snack and they said they had the chai and would keep it for me until I pick it up next week. Isn't that so nice?!?! Phew.

I am somehow still here at this program. I've been feeling pretty angry and irritated. I am still here despite being treated like something worse than garbage by some of the kids. However, a few of the kids are angels and so I stay and give hugs. I have to finish what I start. #the learning of conflict resolution never ends #please God help me get laid this summer

Kheer : )

Soak rice over night. Then grind rice into small pieces (not into a powder). Then boil rice in a milk mixture made of half whole milk and half half and half. Boil for like three hours on medium. you will have to stir the kheer many times during that time. Then after that we'll add sugar, almonds and pistachio pieces. yay!

Last semester I didn't finish the 16 hours of field experience I was supposed to for this one class so after talking to my professor, she gave me an extension to finish the remaining four hours I need to finish into this semester. This means I have to go back to this racially ignorant high school (they've only seen white people and three black students in their school) and don't understand what kind of alien thing I am and will have to tolerate rude and quizzical looks at my driver's license as the administration checks me in. Thank God the teacher I'm observing and most of the students in the class are nice. Nice normal girls. 
I have the kids journaling so Im taking a couple minutes to journal. It's been a bit of a testy week. Disciplinary issues with the teens and preteens. Also on Monday the parking tickets my family had somehow got mixed up and after unnecessarily walking a few blocks in the wrong direction in Philly, I got to the right parking garage only to find that the total cost for parking the car for the weekend was 350 dollars. Oops. Anyhoo, it got straightened out later in the day but we had to get going cause I had to teach the kids in the late afternoon. My dad had a minor heart procedure done today to check if his heart is ok and thankfully everything is just fine. When I get nervous, I breathe deeply over and over again. That is how I keep my anxiety in check. I also remind myself that I'm watched over and everything happens for a reason and when it needs to happen. 3rd and 4th graders up next. #cannot wait for the weekend.
