The nice thing about this new tutoring gig is that they are paying for the clearances!!!! And I am getting a much better pay and a routine schedule. How nice. They are also paying for my physical, drug test and so forth. I've never done drugs so I have no worry there. This makes me feel like there may be some hope in the world. What I'm planning is once the clearances come back from the organization, I'm going to get copies and then forward them to the University. The University found my earlier copies of my clearances unacceptable because they were over a year old. I hate how the state government has its own rules and organizations and universities have their own rules. Child abuse clearances are good for two years unless there is a break in unemployment according to the Dept. of Education. However, the University wants them every year. Fine. But then I have to find the budget to get them and attend to the University emails (my school account which I did not check in June or July) with fifty thousand exclamation marks asking the students to get the clearances completed. Well. I'm kinda on a budget and since you're not paying for them it may take time on my part. Anyhoo, I'm hoping my Act 33/34 clearances come back by tomorrow because they are due at the University by tomorrow. They come back much faster to organizations than to invididuals - good thinking on my part : )
The other annoying thing is that I cannot use my fingerprinting results across departments. My fingerprinting for the Department of Public Welfare was paid for by the 'tutoring' organization but I cannot use the same fingerprints for the Department of Education which is what the University wants. I had to pop out $28.75 to get my fingers massaged for one minute (last year I paid thirty something can't remember). Moreoever, the University requires the unofficial letter regarding the fingerprinting. The fingerprinting lady told me that in actuality, no organization/whatever is supposed to have any evidence, let alone paper evidence, of your fingerprints. You're supposed to give your PAE number and they can look you up. The University (and this other organization actually) wants the unofficial letter that is going to take a couple weeks to get in the mail. Lord I am not getting paid enough to do this.
